The Innermost Essence of Plants

What does a plant look like if you radiate it? Tor G. Nitzelius – a well known dendrolog, garden intendent and prefect at Gothenburg botanical garden – asked himself this question in the early sixties. He brought a catch of plants to Sahlgrenska Hospital to find out. When he, in collaboration with Professor Sven Roland Kjellberg, had completed his project he had nearly 500 x-rays on different species. Over fifty years later they have been discovered yet again. A selection of these X-rays is scanned and printed on fine art paper that emphasizes the inner beauty of the plants.

The opening of the exhibition at The Gothenburg Botanical Garden takes place on Saturday june 16th and is curated by initiator Johan Brink. The exhibition runs until August 5th.
